The dealer in a poker game is not one of the players. Instead, a token indicates that the player is the nominal dealer. This token will rotate clockwise from hand to hand. The first round of betting will be forced. During this phase, players have several options to make bets, including folding (losing all the bets you have already made) or checking. This will determine the amount of chips a player must place into the pot.
