The object of the game is to form the best 5-card hand, continue betting until other players are eliminated, and win the pot (money betted during a hand). In case of a tie, the pot is divided among the players. However, the goal of the game is to win the pot as often as possible, as much as possible.<\/p>\n<p>The betting interval begins with a bet of one or more chips. Next, each player to the left &#8220;calls,&#8221; &#8220;raises,&#8221; or &#8220;drops&#8221; his or her bet to match the previous bet. The player who &#8220;drops&#8221; loses all his or her chips, and must place another bet with the same number of chips as the previous player.<\/p>\n<p>After the betting phase, the players reveal their cards. The player with the highest-ranked hand wins the pot. However, if a player doesn&#8217;t have the highest-ranked hand, he or she must check or fold to avoid losing the pot. This can be a big mistake. This strategy is not recommended.<\/p>\n<p>The number of players in a game of Poker is not critical; however, a minimum of six or eight players is recommended. When playing, all players place bets into the pot, which is the total amount of money wagered by all players.
