\"Poker\" <\/p>\n

Poker is a family of card games, including Texas Hold’em and Omaha, which are played with a standard deck of cards. Players try to make the best five-card hand or bluff their way to victory.<\/p>\n

The rules of Poker vary slightly, but generally each player starts by putting an initial contribution, called an “ante,” into the pot. Then, betting intervals begin. When a bet is made, each player to the left must either “call” by putting in the same number of chips; or “raise,” by putting in more than enough chips to call; or “drop,” by putting in no chips and discarding their hand.<\/p>\n

When a player is holding a strong hand, it is common to check, or not bet immediately. This strategy helps to build the pot and is called “sandbagging”.<\/p>\n

In standard poker, the highest possible hand is five of a kind, which beats any straight flush. In addition, two hands that are identical, card for card, are tied; they divide the pot equally.<\/p>\n
